In the wake of the unprecedented covid-19 pandemic, the entire world has been facing economic stress due to the lockdown. In India, the major setback has been in the MSMEs sector. While the government has introduced schemes that extend some relief to certain industries of the MSME sector, there may be some small businesses/enterprises that could be over-looked. To encourage these small businesses/enterprises to get back to ‘normalcy’ once the lockdown is lifted, India Co-Win Action Network (I-CAN), in collaboration with NITI Aayog, is organising a ‘Crowd Sourcing of Ideas – Idea-thon!’ This Idea-thon is an activity to specify certain mandatory actions that small businesses may have to take to ensure the health and safety of their customers and to ensure the sanctity of social distancing, and also business strategies that would boost their revenues.

The following sectors will be our areas of focus:

Creches/Kindergarten

Beauty Parlours/Spas/Salons

Restaurants/Hotels/Fast-Food Joints/Dhabas/Local Eateries/etc.

Travel and Tourism Businesses

Keeping into perspective the situation of our world after the lockdown is lifted, I-CAN is inviting professionals related to or working in the above-mentioned fields to share their ideas, thoughts, strategies and/or examples of inspiration to move forward with their business plans.

The Idea-thon campaign by I-CAN in collaboration with NITI Aayog is a concept for crowd sourcing of ideas to boost businesses when the lockdown gets uplifted. The idea is to help these businesses to come out of a difficult situation with the help of unconventional strategies and through collaboration with various stakeholders and partners.
