I-CAN has initiated Yuva for Atmanirbhar Bharat (Y4AB) to unite young changemakers from India to take action on the impact of Covid-19 in their communities.

Yuva for Atmanirbhar Bharat is challenge where youth across India will help the communities in their respective regions to become Atmanirbhar through a model of entrepreneurship.

The program will serve as a roadmap to build hyper-local ecosystems where youth can contribute in solving the biggest challenge of livelihood in post covid scenario.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Y4AB Program aims to build a team of passionate people who want to change their respective communities by creating new income generation opportunities for the people or enhancing the employability skills for a better livelihood.

1. Call for application

Inviting student teams from India to fill in the application form and submit the application. The participants will be screened by a panel of judges and top teams will be selected for the challenge.

2. Collect Challenge (Phase 1)

The teams will be collecting and analysing the livelihood challenges faced by various groups in their respective communities. An online bootcamp training will be conducted.

3. Create Solution (Phase 2)

The teams will be creating (ideating) customised solution that can help communities become ‘Atmanirbhar’.

4. Change Lives (Phase 3)

The teams will implement selected solutions in their communities to make them ‘Atmanirbhar’.

5. Final Showcase

The teams will showcase their journey at the end of the challenge through an online final showcase.

ELIGIBILITY

Passionate Youth from age 16-30 years who are currently studying in school, college or have graduated

You can participate as an individual or form a team of 2-10 Members

Participants studying in any stream or working professionals can apply

Application is open for individuals from anywhere in India

A commitment of minimum 6-10 hours a week

  • Complete the signup process by filling in your details
  • Verify your mobile number through the OTP received on your number
  • You have to complete the following registration steps:
  • Read the Y4AB Handbook to know in detail about the programme structure
  • Complete your profile by filling in the details
  • Add respective team members (4-10 members including yourself in the team)

Am I eligible to apply

You are eligible to apply for the program if you are a student and between 16-25 years studying in any college course. We are inviting participants from villages, towns and cities to participate in the challenge.

What are the selection criteria

You are required to fill the pre-registration form to receive the details of the program. The application form is to be submitted with a case study and the guidelines provided. Our screening team will evaluate the applications and we conduct a telephonic interview with the team if you are qualified in the process. The final teams will be announced on the website.

What is the program duration

The program is for a duration of 3 months starting from August 2020 and ending in November 2020.

How is the program executed?

The program and the training will be conducted online.

What kind of projects or ideas will we be working on?

The participants will be working on solving their community challenges by ideating on solutions to create local leadership and entrepreneurship.

Do I need to have a working model or an idea to apply for the challenge?

No, you do need not have a working model to apply for the challenge. The program will help you identify the challenges in your community and build a solution. We would require you to submit the case study to understand your approach toward solving a problem.

How much time do I need to commit to the challenge

Weekly we are looking for 10-15 hours of commitment by individual participants.

Are there any specific requirements to complete the challenge?

We would require the participants to attend the training sessions, weekly follow meetings and submit their assignments on time. The attendance and participants of the team is compulsory through the program.

Do I need to be fluent in english to join the challenge?

No, the program will be conducted in hindi and english.

Do I need to have access to the internet to be a part of the challenge?

Yes, since all the training and events will be conducted online.

Yes, you can apply for the challenge.

Do I need to have prior experience in entrepreneurship

No, we are looking for participants who are passionate to learn, unlearn and relearn during the program.
